Approach
I offer art instruction through both individual sessions and workshops, tailored for everyone from complete beginners to professional artists. My teaching focuses on developing a strong understanding of proportion, gesture, and form, alongside composition and colour, which will enable you to paint anything from portraits to landscapes. We study both from life and from the works of great historical artists, grounding technique in observation and tradition.
My background in teaching mathematics – from school to university level – shapes my approach to art education. I strive to be clear, structured, and logical in my guidance, offering actionable feedback and exercises. At the same time, I adapt to each student’s personal style and goals, ensuring the learning process supports their unique artistic journey.
